Your Right to Transparency
Good Faith Estimate for Health Care Service
You have the right to receive a clear estimate of therapy costs to help you plan ahead. Below is a Good Faith Estimate for services provided at Renovated Heart Counseling, ensuring no surprises along the way:
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit

A Smooth Start to Healing
Preparing for Your First Session
Getting ready for your first therapy session can feel overwhelming, but preparation can make the process easier and more productive. Here's how you can set yourself up for a successful start to your healing journey:
Step 01
Technical Setup for Virtual Sessions:
- Ensure you have a reliable internet connection
- Find a private, quiet space where you won't be interrupted
- Test your camera and microphone beforehand
- Have a backup plan (phone number) in case of technical difficulties
Step 02
Before Our First Session:
- Think about what you hope to accomplish in therapy
- Consider your relationship patterns and what you'd like to change
- Prepare any questions you have about therapy or my approach
- Set aside extra time in case our session runs slightly over
Step 03
What to Bring:
- A notebook if you like to take notes
- Water or tea to help you feel comfortable
- Any relevant documents (if you have previous therapy records you'd like me to review)
Respecting Your Time and Privacy
Understanding Our Therapy Guidelines
I strive to provide a respectful and secure environment for all clients. Please review my cancellation policy and confidentiality guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe experience in therapy:
Cancellation Policy
I understand that life happens and schedules can change. To respect both your time and the time set aside for you, the following policy applies:
A $100 fee will be charged for:
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment
- Same-day cancellations
- Missed sessions without notice (no-shows)
This fee is not billable to insurance and is the client’s responsibility.
Emergency situations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you need to reschedule, I will do my best to offer an alternative appointment time when possible.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy is extremely important to me. I use secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing for virtual sessions, and all clinical records are stored securely according to professional standards.
Confidentiality limits:
Information shared in therapy is confidential except in cases where there's imminent danger to yourself or others, suspected abuse of children or vulnerable adults, or court-ordered disclosure.
